Introducing OpenAI Privacy Filter โ
OpenAI announced the release of Privacy Filter, an open-weight model for detecting and redacting personally identifiable information (PII) in text. The model is claimed to achieve state-of-the-art accuracy on PII detection tasks. The tool is available as an open-weight release, allowing developers to integrate it into their own systems.
Our goal is for models to learn about the world, not about private individuals.
Privacy Filter is not an anonymization tool, a compliance certification, or a substitute for policy review in high-stakes settings.
